Yes, these are the ridiculous things I think about early in the morning*.
Personally, I’d probably go with Christian and Olli, though Christian’s recent health problems might prevent him being a really effective bruiser. And we shouldn’t count out Otalia, because Olivia is fierce.
*Obligatory srs bzness disclaimer: This is a joke and is not meant to imply in any way, shape or form that same sex soap couples need to spar for people’s enjoyment like gladiators in the Coliseum.

I just saw this poll and I voted for Kyle and Fish. Yet, I think the ULTIMATE tag team, would be Kyle AND Olivia, because they each have shady pasts and are NOT above doing something conniving, in order to get their way OR protect someone they care about. Fish and Natalia, are just too sweet, nice and “do right”, so they wouldn’t be okay, with doing something underhanded, in order to “win”.

I’ve changed my opinions a lot since I initially posted this poll. LOL.
While Christian could win in a fight pre-health problems, you’re right, Kyle and Olivia would totally pull every dirty, underhanded trick in the book to win. And Fish, as I’ve realized during this last arc, isn’t just a tech geek, he’s a very good cop who’s got his own strength. He just wouldn’t CHEAT to win. Heh.

Too true and that’s another thing that I love about what TPTB are doing with Oliver after his “coming out” to Layla and Cristian. His story isn’t just about him being GAY. It’s about him, being a techy-geek cop, who also happens to be gay. His entire existence on the show, isn’t about his sexuality. Just like Kyle’s existence on the show, isn’t about his sexuality. It’s refreshing that TPTB haven’t regulated those characters solely based on that one particular part of their character.
Isn’t that what the word “inclusion” is all about?
Back to ridiculous stuff. I can totally picture Kyle and Olivia doing something, getting caught by Natalia and Oliver and then both of them trying to explain why they did it. The look of dissapointment on their faces.
Kyle giving Oliver his “puppy dog face” and Olivia’s sultry voice, asking Natalia for forgiveness.

Sorry, forgot to finish my train of thought. Which is why some (not all) of the more obessive NUKE fans are pissed that Kyle and Fish have “taken over the spotlight” and have become the “shiny new toy” for AfterElton and the viewers/posters over on that site.
Some of these folks are going after soap opera bloggers, who are giving different povs on what TPTB could/should do for future NUKE storylines, in order to bring back some excitement to the pairing. Have you seen Patrick Erwin’s blog from last week?

He KNEW that he would get blasted by some of them, for admiting (in print) that he wants to see Noah and Luke broken up and paired off with other characters for awhile. These folks act, like the soap press is betraying and turning their backs on Nuke. Yes, you can support these characters, but you can also admit crappy writing and storytelling, when it’s right there in front of your face. That’s what these folks have been doing for years now and just because another soap has created their own GLBT characters/storylines AND are currently intertwining them into the overall fabric of their fictional setting, doesn’t mean that you can’t support that show, as well as the other one.

Thanks for the link to Patrick’s blog. I’ve been behind in reading it! That was an interesting little fracas.
And I don’t think people are turning their backs on Noah and Luke or betraying them so much as we’re relieved to have another show that’s doing something positive in the realm of LGBT storylines. I think OLTL has taken what has come before them and learned from it. Ron Carlivati is a pretty smart guy. And the fact that he and his team have created characters in Kyle and Fish who organically fit into the rest of the canvas…and actually started OUT as organic individual parts of the canvas…that’s really cool.
And OLTL isn’t afraid to take chances…maybe because the Kish fanbase isn’t as established as the Nuke one. They went ahead and had Fish sleep with one woman and knock up another. ATWT had a firestorm on their hands when Noah just chastely married one for a green card!
But I think it’s important to remember that every soap that pushes the envelope and takes a risk, paves the way for the next to go a little farther. Just like Bianca did for Luke, Luke has paid it forward to Fish and Kyle.
And now I really want someone to write fanfic where Olivia and Kyle partner up for some kind of scheme while Nat and Oliver Thoroughly Disapprove of the shenanigans. I would die of LOL.

Hell, yes. I remember being on the VH forum and folks were ready to cut Noah’s balls off for doing that to Luke. I, personally just couldn’t figure out why Luke didn’t want to cut Noah’s balls off for wanting to “protect” that girl after only 2 weeks of knowing her at the time. I was like, “this is Lily WALSH Grimaldi Synder’s first born?!” I expected Luke to go off on Noah for it, but TPTB had him being “supportive and understanding”. That’s when I started to get bored with the pairing. It’s one thing to be in love and supportive of your boyfriend’s wishes, it’s another thing entirely, to allow him to marry a stranger after only 2 weeks.

Yes, which is why it annoys me that some folks don’t see it that way. It would be ridiculous for OLTL (or any other soap opera) to not “go further” in their attempts with their own GLBT storylines. That’s what soaps have always been about. Progression.

Okay, I’ve got to put that little wish into someone’s ear on the KISHMET forum. Even if no one picks it up. It would be fantastic. I don’t write fan fic, but I’m trying to figure out how those characters would end up meeting each other. I’m really trying to figure this out.
