The TBR pile for August

There are a lot of shiny new books out, and I feel like I’m already woefully behind! So, here’s a little sticky note telling me what I need to be reading this month…

Waking the Witch, by Kelley Armstrong
Three Nights With a Scoundrel, by Tessa Dare
Tongues of Serpents, by Naomi Novik
The Dead Tossed Waves, by Carrie Ryan

Also, everybody and their aunt Lucy seems to be reading Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games series. Am I thrilled that something besides Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga has begun eating the collective consciousness? Absolutely. Am I raring to have Collins take a bite out of my brain…? I just don’t know. The concept of the books — kids fighting it out in a post-apocalyptic future — doesn’t appeal to me. However, that doesn’t mean I’m totally closed to the idea of reading the books. They’re just not on my “rush out and get” list.
