It’s amazing how getting out of the city for a while literally gives you space to breathe. I feel like it’s the first time I’ve taken a full breath and taken a good look at the sky in ages. And, well, it probably is.
In New York City, I feel like everyone keeps their head down and just goes. There is no time to do anything but move…and that’s probably why people are always plowing into each other on the sidewalk, because no one wants to, or even can deviate from the path they take over and over.
Everything is fast, everyone is in a hurry, and it’s like your heart is always pounding. There’s an urgency to life there…though I’ve yet to figure out why everyone is in such a rush.
And I’m heading back to that in just a few hours.
Hope I can fall right back into the pace.
